Curious about pottery, come and get your hands muddy and discover the magic of the wheel in this relaxed, beginner-friendly 2-hour session. Small classes of up to 5 people. You’ll be guided step-by-step through the basics of throwing clay, with plenty of time to play and experiment. You’ll choose your favourite pot from the session, which I’ll trim, glaze, and fire for you. Your finished piece will be ready to collect a few weeks later, a unique keepsake from your first spin at the wheel. Whether you’re looking to try something new, unwind, or just enjoy a couple of creative hours, this is a great way to dip your toe into the world of pottery.

Experience the magic of the pottery wheel in this private 2-hour session, perfect for beginners or anyone curious about clay. We'll start with a short demonstration where I’ll guide you through the basic techniques of wheel throwing, centering, shaping, and forming a simple pot. Then it’s your turn! You’ll have plenty of hands-on time at the wheel to practice and create your own piece. At the end of the session, you’ll choose two of your favourite pots to keep. I’ll take care of the trimming, glazing, and firing, and your finished piece will be ready to collect in a few weeks. Want to keep more pots? No problem! Additional pieces are just £10 each to cover firing and material costs.

Spend a full day at the wheel learning the fundamentals of pottery in a relaxed, supportive group setting. We'll start with a short demonstration to guide you through the basics of throwing, then you’ll get hands-on time to practice and create your own pieces. The session runs for 6 hours, including a 45 minute lunch break. There are plenty of lovely cafés nearby and along the river if you'd like to head out for food, or you’re welcome to bring your own and enjoy a break at the studio. By the end of the day, you'll have made several pieces, and you’ll get to keep your two favourites, which I’ll trim, glaze, and fire for you after the session. All materials are included. Just bring your curiosity, clothes you don’t mind getting a little clay on. Aprons provided.

This course is paced gently, with two classes per week, allowing time to rest, reflect, and return to the wheel with fresh energy. Perfect for complete beginners or anyone looking to reconnect with clay in a calm, welcoming space. All tools, materials, and firings are included.
